Yogurt Pie

Adapted from a forum post that I can no longer find.

Yogurt pie was one of my sister’s favorite desserts when we were growing up. She loved it so much that she even made it for her own birthday (usually the birthday girl would have this done for her.) So, we grew up and, of course, we lost the recipe. Luckily, I found a similar recipe on the Web.

This pie is perfect on a hot summer day. Go wild with the Jello and yogurt combinations!

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz. package fruit-flavored Jello
  • 1/2 C Boiling water
  • 24 oz. fruit-flavored Yogurt, pre-stirred (about 3 containers)
  • 8 oz. tub Cool Whip, thawed
  • 8 in. Graham cracker pie shell
  • Fruit for topping, optional

Directions:

Dissolve the Jello into the boiling water. Mix very well with a whisk. Let the mixture cool.
Mix in the yogurt. When the mixture is entirely cool, fold in the Cool Whip.
Immediately spoon the mixture into the pie shell. Add fruit (optional.)
Freeze the pie for at least 45 minutes.

Let thaw and serve. Voila!
